Book1This page has two lists: a list of books I’m currently reading, followed by a list of my favorites. I always read more than one book at a time. I don’t read like a normal person… must be ADD. Feel free to read along or chat me about any of these. I like to talk books!

Current Reads:

Dark at the Roots: A Memoir by Sarah Thyre

Day Watch by Sergei Lukyanenko

The Thirteen Tale by Diane Sutterfield

Favorites:

The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis

The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub

The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis

Night Watch (Nochnoi Dozor) by Sergei Lukyanenko

1,000 Places to See Before You Die *

(*I have this book highlighted all over. Whenever I’m blue, I open it up and plan a new trip to somewhere far away. Oh yeah, and I loved the book before the show came out.)

Growing Creative Kids*

(*also a book that is heavily highlighted.)

  1. So what is Eve and the choice made in heaven about? Is it a C.S. Lewis type of book?

You definitely need to read The thirteenth tale. You will love it!!!!!

  2. I love The Talisman, too! Not many people know about it, but it’s so brilliant. I need to read it again. Apparently they’re still trying to make a movie or mini-series out of it. They’d better not ruin it, that’s all I’ve got to say. I still have my 20 year old copy…

  3. @Stephanie- During my teen years, I read The Talisman over and over as my means of escape from a cruel step-father. I love, love, love that book. The Black House (the sequel) came out several years ago and I’ve tried to read it a couple times, but haven’t been able to get through it. It’s just not the same. But I’ve always wanted a best friend who was secretly a werewolf, and for a while I would try to slide the phrase “God pounds his nails” into conversations… it was awkward.
