He irritates neighbor kids… and captures it on video…

…and then they attack him. While the camera is still running. Can’t we all just get along?

(This is the video he and his friend made this afternoon. The acting is top notch, and the improv is brilliant.)

(My favorite part is watching my kid shoot the neighbor’s flat screen TV with a Nerf gun. Wow- sorry Alysa.)

Last night Jachin received his Arrow of Light award in Cub Scouts.

Next month he’ll officially “graduate” from Cubs to Boy Scouts. (Time flies like winged bunnies.) I recorded it, for both posterity and your viewing pleasure.

Things to look for in this video:

* Jachin stating that he will NOT be loyal to those he works with (it makes a mother proud)
* An Arrow of Light explanation so long that Jachin’s hands repeatedly cramp
* Jachin gnawing gum like a cow chewing cud
* Jachin looking like the cutest Cub Scout in the entire 100 years of the organization
* Deacon shouting “Jakey!” right before he proudly runs to the front of the room to congratulate his big brother

Jachin was in charge of applause last night, which is why he got to choose his own cheer. (He threatened to do the “Der” cheer, which he made up. To do it, you screw your face up like a weirdo and exclaim “DERRRRRR”. I’m happy that he chose the “cherry” cheer.)

Congrats, Jakey. You da man.

I feel a little spunkier… and it’s like the Creativity Faerie flitted over and bonked me on the head with her wand.
