For the record, the kids have hardly protested about the no TV thing. Until the other night, that is. Because it's very hard to watch the ball drop on New Year's Eve with no TV. So Zoe drew us a ball and we cut it and let it drop when our kitchen clock indicated it was midnight. Also, we've only been TV-free for about three months, not five.
